The New Zealand wine industry is extremely vibrant. While it has ten main grape growing regions, the majority of the crop comes from just three regions: Hawkes Bay, Marlborough, and Gisborne. These regions have great diversity in soils and climate due to the length and geology of the country.  Many can be described as cool to cold, with a long growing season producing fine varietal qualities in their wines.
