From 75-year-old, massale selection vines, the '13 is a layered, textural Côte de Beaune, full of juicy, deep and rich dark cherry, mulberry and anise fruit. Both lovely perfume and finesse and very fine tannins. A terrific bargain.
"... the 2013 Maranges 1er Cru Clos de la Boutière has a well-defined, very pure bouquet with violet aromas developing in the glass. This has class. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, a pastille-like purity at its core, with raspberry and strawberries segueing into a lightly spiced finish. Excellent." 90-92 points, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate Issue #216, Dec 2014
