Twenty months in French, 30% new. Most of that oak is French-coopered too, though some comes via AP John, surprisingly enough. Bottled in both 750ml and 375ml, blessedly. I’d have me some of this in 375ml in a heartbeat. Under screwcap. For those moments when “just a sneaky half bottle” is just the ticket.
We’re in good form here. The power, the delicacy, the yin, the yang. Slippery, satiny mouthfeel, loads of spice, sweet-sour cherries, cream, cranberry, a carousel of savoury flavour, and tannin, twirling through the finish. Really very good.
