I swear the bottles have gotten heavier. Feels like they’re packing a litre or more. The label says I am wrong. The vineyard is in the Warramate Ranges part of the Yarra Valley and is seeing some biodynamic principles applied to the working of the site. Natural ferment takes place, short time on lees, gravity fed to bottle without filtration. Small volume produced due to challenges and vagaries of season.
Aromas set to grapefruit, dried apple pieces, blanched almonds, struck flint mineral whiffs. Beautiful fruit forward scents. Floods the palate with finely whisked cream texture, licks of vanillin oak-over stone fruit, citrus characters, brisk mineral-flecked acidity. Light on its feet, glides through the mouth, feels ultra fresh, fine, and lingers with talc-like chalkiness amongst the tangy acidity . Wonderful wine. Such ease, such drinkability, such finesse.
