This is Joe's flagship Pinot Noir (apart from the extremely rare Project X Pinot Noir). I think I'll be seeking out a nice piece of game meat to enjoy with this wine.
Tasted this back in August 2014, and again this week: it’s coming along pretty well. Also, I suspect a wine that may dazzle some more than others. Such is Pinot.
Cherry liqueur, boysenberry, leather, rhubarb and plenty of spice. Medium bodied, but kind of rugged and brooding, with a firm grip of tannin, inky mineral and savoury flavours, then a raspberry liqueur laced finish of good length. Needs a few years in the cellar, or a few hours in the decanter.
