Notes
A fascinating alternative to main stream Australian red varieties. A great food wine with intriguing and beguiling scent and flavours. Deep crimson through to ruby red hues. This wine offers up very intense aromas of fresh red and black berries with a distinctive dried herb scent. On the palate, some rosemary and thyme continues the theme, with black cherries, blueberry and hints of vanillan oak notes. Fine savoury tannins and bright racy acid finishes the wine nicely.
Sunday roast in a glass! Try it with roast salt bush lamb studded with rosemary sprigs and oven roasted vegies. Barbera will match most heavier pasta dishes as well. This Barbera is best enjoyed young and fresh for most but will develop nicely over 5 – 6 years.
